Your body – physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing – is like a car. You need to refuel it. You need to bring it in for an oil change. And you need to care for it – in all stages of life!
And I KNOW motherhood and those early postpartum days are so so challenging. And while we are so excited to meet our new babe, and focus on our birth plans, we often forget about preparing for what to do once babe is here. And one of these fundamental aspects is how you fuel – feed – your body.
Today I sit with Melissa Mitri. She is a Registered Dietitian-Nutritionist and Owner of Melissa Mitri Nutrition, a nutrition counseling practice where she helps moms and moms-to-be build a healthy baby and nourish themselves through a practical, whole foods approach. Melissa has over 10 years of experience in the field of nutrition, and has a true passion for helping women feel confident entering motherhood.
In this episode, we talk about:
- Melissa’s journey into motherhood and her struggle with breastfeeding
- Top nutritions that you need to be considering for your postpartum body and for breastfeeding. We only talk about two of the six, so Melissa created this handout so you don’t have to make notes! Click HERE to download it.
- Adjusting to motherhood and body image acceptance
- Healthy weight loss after having a baby.
If you are a new mom or soon to be mother, this is a must listen! Melissa shares such key pieces of nutrition that I wish I had known earlier on. If you know someone who is about to be a mom, or even if you are going to be a second, third, or fourth time mom, her tips are so helpful for managing key nutrients and body health in this stage.
We only covered a few of the key nutrients for this time – so we wanted you to be able to access the information without having to take notes or listen to a long episode! Click HERE to download it! Or be sure to check her out on Instagram!
